Verified Competencies

Verified Competencies

The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) has introduced Verified Competencies as part of the Green Mark Professional (GMP) Qualification Scheme to further strengthen the relevance and value of the GMP framework. These Verified Competencies are developed in collaboration with industry stakeholders to reflect emerging needs and specialised knowledge areas that are important for today’s green building projects.

Verified Competencies are intended to enhance the visibility of GMPs who have demonstrated completion of specific training, or other outcomes aligned with particular building typologies, sustainability domains, or project requirements. They provide industry partners, project teams, and clients with greater clarity when identifying GMPs whose training align with the needs of specific projects beyond baseline green building considerations.

Once the relevant criteria for a Verified Competency have been met, the GMPs’ profile will be listed with the Verified Competency at the GMP Directory, allowing stakeholders to easily identify professionals with recognised training in these focus areas. Verified Competencies complement the core GMP qualification and support informed selection, professional development, and continued advancement within the green building ecosystem.

Green Mark Data Centre Verified Competency

GMPs may now add “GM Data Centre” as a Verified Competency to their GMP Directory profiles upon successful completion of the Certification Course on Green Mark for Data Centres (GM DC:2024) offered by BCA Academy.
